Page layout

Apply nsw-layout to a page: a main column with an optional navigation or supplementary sidebar, and a hero band.

What it is

A page layout applies the NSW Design System nsw-layout to the whole content area: a main column, optionally beside a left navigation rail or a right supplementary rail, with a hero band above.

How to add it

You don't add a layout from the block menu — pick it from the Layout selector: None, or a left/right sidebar, with or without a hero. The page's content stays in the main column; switching layouts keeps it.

Deselect to the page settings, pick Left sidebar from the Layout selector, and apply it — the content moves into the main column and a section nav builds itself in the rail.

Switching a left sidebar to the right keeps the main content; the left navigation rail is hidden (recoverable) and a right supplementary rail takes its place.

Configure it

Left rail — navigation (a side nav). Desktop only; it has its own mobile toggle.
Right rail — supplementary content (a utility list, a compact form, related links) that stacks on mobile.
Switching sides keeps the main content and hides the other rail's content (it comes back if you switch back).
Hero — a full-width band above the layout, for a hero banner.
