A disclosure that reveals supplementary content on demand — an always-visible summary plus a Show more / Show less toggle.

What it is

Show more is a disclosure: an always-visible summary with a toggle that reveals supplementary content on demand. Use it to keep a page scannable while still offering the detail — accepted evidence, assessment notes, edge cases — to the people who need it. It is a native HTML details element, so it works without JavaScript and is keyboard- and screen-reader-friendly.

How to add it

Add a Show more block. Write the summary teaser that stays visible, then add the content revealed when it is expanded. Optionally change the Show and Hide labels, add screen-reader context, or start it expanded.

Tips

Keep the summary meaningful on its own — a reader should know what they will get before expanding. Add screen-reader context (for example “about accepted proof of identity”) so the toggle is not a context-free “Show more”.

Don’t hide essential information behind it — Show more is for supplementary detail, not the main message.

See Callout for highlighting key information inline, and Accordion for several independent collapsible sections.

Example

Most people will not need this detail. Expand for accepted evidence combinations.
